Cartographic text needed for named place at scale 1:250.000 that cannot be put into attributes. Named locations specially required are regions e.g. Mountain range, Valley, Peak, Gorge, Bay, Sea, Fjord, Inlet/cape, Sandbank, Beach, Headland/Peninsula, Sea water and forest name. For data transfer and better data interoperability, each geographical name is represented by a line feature and by a text feature. GNAMEL is a copy of GNAMET with a different geometric representation.This dataset is provided by Tailte Éireann
